Valley United Way is now located on the 5th floor of this building at Three Corporate Drive After nearly twenty years at 75 Liberty Street in Ansonia, Valley United Way has moved to new quarters at Three Corporate Drive in Shelton. United Way moved to the space in the Ansonia Copper & Brass building from its original location at 1 Kingston Drive in Ansonia about 20 years ago. At one time, both the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce and Valley United Way were located at 1 Kingston Drive. Jack Walsh, President & C.O.O. of Valley United Way, said that, "We cannot thank Ansonia Copper & Brass enough for all they have done for us through the years. They have been wonderful hosts, and we are going to miss our daily interactions with them." He noted that Ansonia Copper & Brass is in the midst of some exciting changes, and the current administrative building is for sale leading to United Way's search for new quarters. Walsh said that the Board of Directors had established a building committee to examine United Way's options and conduct a search for new space. The Committee advertised for proposals to meet the organization's needs and received several proposals. Walsh said, "We were very pleasantly surprised when our auditor opened the proposals and we found that we had several viable options." When the committee finished their review, the choice of the space at Three Corporate Drive was obvious. "The new space was the most affordable of all the proposals received, yet offered many benefits beyond anything else that we received," said Walsh. We are grateful to our new landlords, Fletcher Thompson for making us an attractive proposal for this great new space." The new office is located on the fifth floor of the building. There is office space for Valley United Way as well as the Valley Council for Health & Human Services and the Valley Needs & Opportunities Project which are hosted by United Way. The space also includes a conference room which is comparable in size to the existing Raymond P. Lavietes Conference Room, and the new room will retains the Lavietes name. |
