United Way Announces Allocations

A busy day for check presentations!

Valley United Way recently announced allocations to its partner agencies for the 2006-2007 period. The announcement culminates a two month period of agency visits and program reviews conducted by Valley United Way's Allocations Committee volunteers under the direction of Chair Peter Galla. Teams of volunteers drawn from all walks of the community including two members of Valley United Way's Youth Leadership Program examined budget requests and program data and then visited the agencies before meeting to review their findings and make recommendations to United Way's Board of Directors. The allocations are up over 5% from the 2005-2006 base allocations.

Jack Walsh, President & C.O.O. of Valley United Way said that, "We are pleased to be able to put additional funding back into the community to support the needed services being provided by these agencies. As demonstrated by the reviews done by the donors, they continue to do a great job in meeting the needs of the community." He also praised the efforts of the 31 volunteers who served on this year's committee for their diligence and time commitment in ensuring that dollars being invested in the community are well spent.
