Barbara & John Yeager really did know what they were
doing in winning the Orienteering Event!
The recent wet weather resulted in a lush covering of
vegetation and trails that had turned into small streams, but that
only added to the enjoyment and sense of accomplishment of the
fifteen teams who competed in the first ever Corporate Cup
Orienteering competition held in Osbornedale State Park on May 20.
Under ideal weather conditions, John and Barbara Yeager of
Birmingham Group Health Services topped the field as they collected
the maximum point total while completing the course in the quickest
time - 38 minutes. John D'Onfrio and Bob VanEgghen of Perkin Elmer
finished second in 40 minutes. Bob was the one who suggested adding
the event to the Corporate Cup, so he is to be congratulated not
only for a good finish, but also for making the event happen.
Tele-Media's Keith Corocoran and Dennis Jordan were
only a minute behind Perkin Elmer and just half a minute ahead of
Thaddeus Kurkowski and Larue LeBlanc of CDWG. United Illuminating's
Bob Manning and Terry Thomas rounded out the top five with a finish
of 46 minutes.
Steve & Shirley Vicchito celebrated two accomplishements!
It was a great day for all competitors, but a very
special day for Steve and Shirley Vicchitto of Tele-Media as they
were celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary!
