United Illuminating got off to a blazing start and
never let up as they had the high team total in all three games and the
overall score on their way to a convincing 224 pin victory over
runner-up Perkin Elmer Alpha 2. Jim Varney's first game 224 was the high
single score on the day and John Och of Perkin Elmer's Alpha 1 team had
the high triple with an impressive total of 624.. Other members of the winning
team included Glenn Varney, Matt Maher and Wayne Teel. It marked the
second straight year that U.I. won the Bowling Tournament. Former
Champion Perkin Elmer's Alpha 2 team finished second well ahead of
Griffin Hospital's Business and Other Business team which finished just
one pin ahead of Griffin's Underground team - and former champion
Gordon Rubber was only 7 pins farther back in fifth place. The entire
