Fat's Pool Room on Derby's historic Main Street played host to this year's Corporate Cup Billiards Tournament and the nostalgic old building and hall proved to be the perfect backdrop for Perkin Elmer #6's big win. Hafeez Khan and Jeff Rosseau were knocked into the losers' bracket in the 25 team field by the valley YMCA's Chris Phipps and Dick Feher in the finals of the winners back. However Kahn and Rosseau responded to the challenge by knocking off CDW-G's #3 team of Jay Celozzi and Jon Gray in the losers' bracket final before knocking off the Y in two straight games to win the title.

Perkin Elmer #6 had stopped CDW-G #1, Birmingham Group Health Services #2 Curtiss Ryan Honda #1 and CDW-G #3 before stubbing their toe against the Y. Phipps and Feher looked unbeatable in wins over CDW-G #2, Perkin Elmer #3, and Birmingham Group Health Services #1 before squeezing by Perkin Elmer #6 in the winners' bracket final. However they ran out of gas as Khan and Rosseau dominated in the final two games of the evening.

CDWG- #3 beat Birmingham Group Health Services #1 in the losers bracket semi-final match to finish third for the event. TEAM, Inc.'s "C" Team and Perkin Elmer #5 tied for fifth place.
