2007 - 2008 High School Volunteer Council Members

The High School Volunteer Council held its 2007 – 2008 Kickoff Breakfast at Valley United Way on September 19, 2007. 

All Five Valley High Schools were represented with Advisors and Students. The students shared with the group all of their school and community/volunteer clubs and programs.  

Monthly meetings will be held throughout the year. The breakfast meetings are held at a different high school each month.

The High School Volunteer Council is a very unique project of the Volunteer Action Center. The member schools include all of the public high schools in the Valley:

• Ansonia High School

• Derby High School

• Emmett O'Brien Regional Vocational Technical School

• Seymour High School

• Shelton High School

The schools meet monthly during the year the year in order to fulfill their stated mission and goals:

Mission & Goal

• To unite the high schools in the Valley to work together on community service projects that will meet the needs of the Valley. 

• To provide the opportunity for high school students to interact with students from different schools, to learn and practice leadership skills, to develop a wider knowledge of community needs and to implement at least one joint major volunteer project a year that will have a positive impact on the Valley as a whole.
