Starting to Shape Up

First Union Bank employees filled the Center on Tuesday

Perkin-Elmer employees enjoyed some "lighter" moments on the job

Primer is starting to give way to some real paint as the second day of Week of Caring drew to a close. Tenants of the Riverside Apartments joined employees of First Union Bank and Perkin-Elmer and Fred Ortoli Photography to build on the work begun on Monday. Almost every inch of the Center has now been primed and a first coat of new paint is already on the walls of the main room. The hungry volunteers were well fed by food from Charlie & Leon's in Ansonia.

The stage is now set for Wednesday which will be a very special day for this year's Week of Caring project. Work scheduled for Wednesday will spill out to the grounds to include landscaping. Volunteers will also pause to commemorate the terrible tragedy of September 11, 2001 and celebrate their own tribute through community service.
