Griffin Hospital's Mobile Health Resource Van was a popular campaign addition this year. Pictured are (L to R) Beverly Condor and Gary Valentine from Griffin's Cardiac Rehab Center and Daun Barret, Parish Nurse Coordinator. (Click picture for larger image.)

The committee planned a vibrant two-week campaign that began with an ice cream social on October 6 and concluded with the luncheon on the 15th. In between, employees participated in a variety of special events that included a health fair featuring Griffin Hospital's new Mobile Health Resource Van. They also cooked and ate at an International Luncheon, played basketball at their own hoop contest, and learned more about themselves by participating in a special Trivia Contest. They also found time to stage a book fair with proceeds going to United Way.

United Way Executive Director Jack Walsh praised Iroquois for their ongoing support of Valley United Way and the Valley community. He said, "They have been involved in the community since their first day in Shelton, and that involvement goes well beyond the incredible campaigns that they run". In addition to the campaign, he praised them for their leadership role on the Corporate Volunteer Council and their support of the Healthy Valley 2000 project that will lead to the a major festival celebrating the Valley's river heritage on Columbus Day weekend in 2000.
