General Electric celebrated
another successful United Way campaign at its facility in Shelton
with luncheon for the employees. Brad Greene chaired this year's
committee in Shelton with help from Doreen Hesse, Gloria Lanna and
Loretta Allard. Greene served as the master of ceremonies for the
luncheon.
GE Supply President and CEO William Meddaugh and Allan Rowe from
Corporate Human Resources addressed the gathering and complimented
on their year round community involvement while encouraging them to
make a pledge to the campaign.
Jack Walsh, Executive Director at Valley United Way, also
addressed the group and thanked them for their leadership in the
Valley community. He also thanked the GE Foundation for a 25%
increase in the corporate donation to the Valley. (Click
here to see more.) He pointed out
that the Valley was one of 30 finalists for the prestigious All
America City Award in 1999, and that with the continuing support of
GE and others in the community they hoped to win the award in 2000. |
