United Way Executive Director Jack Walsh is the lone thorn among the roses at the Hewitt management meeting.

The logo on the t-shirts at the Hewitt Organization says it all. "Caring Hearts Build Hope" not only describes the campaign slogan for this year's United Way effort, but also for the unique community spirit that the employees at Hewitt exhibit every day.

The campaign kicked off with a pep rally and ice cream social at the Hewitt Hospital on Tuesday  with Lynette Jordan of the Spooner House and Pat Kaplan of New Haven Legal Services as speakers.

That was followed by a morning breakfast and an afternoon ice cream social at Shelton Lakes. Ondria Lucky spoke about  Infoline and  the new state wide 2-1-1 service.

Gardner Heights hosted three separate sessions and they heard from Sheri Pozarlik from the Umbrella Project. Friday the campaign concluded with a luncheon for the Hewitt management team. Pozarlik was once again the speaker and Hewitt CEO Dave Brodonaro also addressed the group.
