Michael Marcinek "Three-Peats" as Campaign Chairman

In an historic move, Valley United Way has selected Mike Marcinek, Senior Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Fletcher Thompson in Shelton, as chairman for the Annual Community Campaign. this marks the first time in United Way's history that someone has headed three campaigns. Mike previously lead the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 campaigns.

In accepting the challenge, Mike noted that he was doing so in order to lend continuity to the campaign while a new group of campaign leaders has time to develop the experience to undertake the leadership of the campaign. Valley United Way President and C.O.O. Jack Walsh said, "We couldn't be more pleased that Mike with his proven track record of leadership and success has agreed to chair the new campaign. This is going to ensure another very successful campaign."

A native of Seymour, Mike has a keen understanding of the importance of giving back to the community and has spent hundred of hours volunteering his time.  He chairs the Valley United Way’s finance committee, is a board member for Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut County and was recently elected to the Board of Directors at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Since it’s founding in 1910, Fletcher Thompson has instilled in their employees the importance of being part of the community. Each year employees donate hundreds of hours to assist area non-profit organizations including taking on leadership positions such as Mike's.
