Wal*Mart Runs First '06-'07 Campaign

The 2006-2007 is off to an unofficial start as Wal*Mart in Shelton under the direction of new store manager Ann Walters and old friend Lucille Clancy conducted a week long series of employee rallies designed to stimulate interest. Wal*Mart in Derby followed with their campaign on August 10. Though the campaign does not officially start until the Kickoff Reception on September 19, Wal*Mart stores nation wide usually start their campaigns earlier to avoid the mad rush of holiday shopping later in the year.

Wal*Mart is also a very active member of Valley United Way's Corporate Volunteer Council and regularly participates in a variety of community events. Each day during their campaign, speakers from area nonprofits addressed the employees providing information about the programs and services that they offer.
