Awards Reception

The 2015 Community Corporate Cup winner and the Healthy team winner were both announced at the Awards Reception on June 29. The event was held in the courtyard at Griffin Hospital. It included a fun cookout and the official announcement along with the presentation of medallions for the individual even winners, plaques to the top three overall finishers and, of course, the 2015 Community Corporate Cup!

The Griffin Hospital Community Corporate Cup marks its 25th year with the 2015 edition. That’s 25 years of improving the health and quality of life of all our participants – and that number is in the thousands! The 2015 Cup will continue with its emphasis on healthy living through physical activity, nutritional guidance and fun and morale building competition.

This year’s lineup of events starts with the critically important Healthy Team and includes darts, Wiffle ball, bowling, miniature golf, horseshoes, cornhole and  bocce. For the first time in 17 years, basketball is back in the form of a shoot-out. You can use the drop down menu at the top of the page to access individual events.

The Corporate Cup is open to companies located in the Valley. Companies may register for individual events, but the most cost effective way (and the best way to ensure that your team is competitive) is to take advantage of the early-bird full team registration which entitles you to a single team registered for every single event. The cost is $545 – a savings of almost $150 over individual registrations. If you really want to be thrifty (and even more competitive!) register a second full team and get an even better rate of $445 for the second team. This full team registration is now closed, but individual event registration is still available.

If your company has 25 or fewer employees, you can combine with another small employer for a “co-op” team. Give us a call (203 926-9478) or e-mail us (valleyunitedway@valleyunitedway.org) to discuss.

This is the tentative schedule for 2015, but dates and locations are subject to change based on facility availability and weather.
