CDWG – Darts Champs 2016

CDWDarts2016

CDW’s Mike Bowers & Fredo Severino are the 2016 Corporate Cup Darts Champs

CDWG’s Bulls Hitters and EDR’s Data Darters were on a collision course to decide the 2016 Corporate Cup Darts tournament as they each breezed through their sides of the winners bracket. The Bulls Hitters’ Mike Bowers and Fredo Severino then inflicted the first loss of the night on EDR’s Matt Purcell and Scott DeCesare snding EDR to the losers bracket.

However EDR bounced right back by knocking CDWG’s Eye Bull team out of the losers bracket final setting up another match with the undefeated Bulls Hitters – and they won to force the “if” game for the title. Bowers & Severino showed their championship with another win – and the 2016 title.

The Eye Bulls Dan Ruggiero and Scott Sember finished third while PerkinElmer’s Gary Brennan and Frank Cusello took fourth place. BIC’s Blind Cave Fish team of Jeff Manning and Ed Ryes tied Joe Olah and Tom Gwilliam of Iroquois Pipeline for fifth place.

Event Information

Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance to register. All team members must be present at the start of the event or the team will forfeit.

The Corporate Darts Tournament is a competition for teams of two. Players will alternate shooting per round. Scoring will be based upon the 301 Double Out system. Each side starts with 301 points and each score is subtracted from the remaining total. Scores will be tabulated electronically. Best of three out of each round advances to the next round. A coin toss will determine which team will play first. The losing team shoots first in the subsequent game. Players throw three darts each per round. Darts only score if they remain on the board five seconds after the final dart has been thrown by a player. Any dart that drops or bounces off the board may not be re-thrown. Whatever the board scores is the recorded score, even if the dart falls. Darts must be removed prior to switching players. Exit to the right of the board after removing darts. Game ends when the first team reduces the score to exactly zero.

Darts will be provided by the YMCA. Participants may use their own darts if they are compatible with our boards.

Register here: You must register each of your teams even if you did a full registration. We reserve the right to limit the number of teams from any one company based on event capacity. Companies are guaranteed their full team registrations as long as they register in a timely fashion. Additional slots will be awarded proportionally for fairness to all companies, but timeliness of registration is a factor.
