In a break from the miserable weather of the last week, it
was a great night to be outdoors, and Spectrum Plastics took full advantage
top the field for the Mini-Golf Tournament at the fantastic course at the
Sports Center of Connecticut by four strokes. Sparked by Wally Ward's best
individual score of the day at 40, Wally and teammates Tom Krushinski, Caro
Semanchik, And Matt McKenney topped a field of 17 teams. Their 185 total was
nine strokes less than the Valley YMCA posted in winning the 2008. For the
second straight year, the PerkinElmer Eagles finished in second place. They
actually improved their score from 203 last year to 189 this year, but it
wasn't enough to catch Spectrum.
TEAM, Inc's "B" team finished in third place at 192 stokes
which was 4 better than Birmingham Group Health Services ' 196. A surprising
Valley United Way team rounded out the top five with a 206 score in their
first event of the year.
