Turner Posts a "Healthy" Win

Roy Lundin and Alice Ross of Turner Construction turned out to be the healthiest of all as they racked up a score of 152 points on their way to victory over a large field in the Suburban Health Plan Healthy Team Competition. The father-daughter team of Bruce and Kristal Nichols of Gordon Rubber finished second with a score of 129. Griffin Health Service's Elizabeth Plisko and Carl Shields tied with Madeline Malinouskas and Pamela Hill of Birmingham Group Health Services for third place.

Competitors were given a pre-test in March and then over the course of the next three months earned points for a variety of healthy activities including losing weight, reducing cholesterol levels, attending stress reduction seminars, stopping smoking, and eating healthy meals among others. They were given a post-test in late May to see how much their health had improved from the start of the competition.

By simply participating each and every competitor had a chance to become a winner in life even if not in the Corporate Cup.
