Pitney Bowes a sweep in the Volleyball Tourney.
Pitney Bowes "A" team rolled to a convincing win in the First Union Volleyball Tourney as they topped runners-up United Illuminating two straight games in the finals of the 13 team tournament. Pitney displayed excellent team play and a powerful spiking game as they went undefeated on the day. They finished undefeated in their group round robin qualifying round and then rolled to the championship by beating Birmingham "A" and Pitney Bowes "B" following an open round bye that they earned with their number 2 seeding from the qualifying round.
United Illuminating came into the round robin play with the number one seeding as they also went undefeated in their group round robin. They then defeated T.E.A.M., Inc. and Griffin Health Services "A" before running into Pitney Bowes in the championship game.
Griffin Health Services "A" toppled Pitney Bowes "B" for third place. The final standings:
