Wal*Mart lives up to"A"listing!

Wal*Mart's winning team is smiling after completing a sweep in the Hoops Tourney. The teams included (l to r) Brian Jarvis, Sean Whitely, Chuck James and Jeff Barnard.

In only their second year of competition in the Turner Community Corporate Cup Hoops Tourney, Wal*Mart's "A" team captured this year's championship by sweeping through the tournament undefeated culminating with a two games to zero win over the defending champs, Griffin Newlyweds (Griffin Bridesmaids a year ago!). Wal*Mart used size, quickness and excellent shooting in posting wins over Griffin L.B.C. and United Illuminating before toppling the Newlyweds in the title game. While trying to defend their title, the Newlyweds beat Prudential Resources and LexiBridge. United Illuminating and LexiBridge tied for third in the standings

In other hoops action, Calvin Teel of United Illuminating once again showed why he might be the best shooter in tourney history by capturing both the foul shooting and three point shooting contests. Click here for details along with this year's photo album.
