Scott Pomponio and Mike Bartolomeo made it look easy as they topped Bassett Trim to culminate an undefeated run to the Turner Construction Billiards Tournament Championship in the first year for the event. On they way to the championship in a twenty-eight team field, PBCC drew an opening win bye and then posted eight straight wins to take the title. They opened play with a win over TEAM, Inc. then swept past Turner Construction #2 and Gordon Rubber before topping Bassett's in the final. Anna-Marie Lawrence and Larry Pelatowski were nearly as impressive as they broke past Birmingham Group #2, Griffin Hospital #2, Fluidyne and United Illuminating #1 before running into a buzz saw in PBCC in the championship round. United Illuminating and Gordon Rubber had victories in three straight rounds prior to their losses in the semi-finals. The first year event was a great success and Snookers provided a great backdrop for the event as gracious hosts.
