It was cold at Camp Jewell!!
Valley united Way’s Youth Leadership members, twenty-two high school students from Ansonia, Derby, Emmett O’Brien, Notre Dame – Fairfield, Shelton and St. Joseph’s High School, attended the Annual Camp Jewell Teambuilding Retreat the weekend of April 5th.
Camp Jewell, a YMCA Outdoor Center in Colebrook, Connecticut is a dynamic hands on learning experience that emphasizes learning in several major areas: trust, team building, leadership, problem solving, and communication. Experienced instructors are skilled in drawing analogies between each activity and the work the Youth Leadership members will be doing throughout the year.
During the weekend group held their first meeting at which they elected officers and developed their monthly schedule for the meeting which will take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Valley United Way offices in Ansonia.
