Youth Leaders Complete Three Successful Car Washes

Members of Valley United Way's Youth Leadership Program have completed three successful benefit car washes in their efforts to raise funds for Sydney Bartone of Derby. They held two at the Webster Bank branch on Rt. 67 in Oxford and one at McConney's Farm in Derby. They have raised over $1,000 to date which will be coupled with funds raised at the Rock the Valley Concert later this year.
Each year, the students raise funds to support the medical needs of a Valley child suffering from a serious illness. This year the students have selected Sydney Bartone of Derby as the recipient of their efforts. Their ambitious efforts which will culminate in their annual Rock the Valley Concert in October. Last year the students raised close to $4,000 for the Leukemia Society.
